So the past couple of weeks have been hard ones for me iv felt so drained and tired. Arthur has been on lactose free milk since I stoped breast feeding as normal milk wasn’t agreeing with him and he had really bad colic, once I changed him to lactose free milk (as advised by the doctor) he was fine. Arthur has been sleeping through the night for a while now up until these last 2 weeks!! He has been waking up twice in the night for a bottle? I have started weaning Arthur on food and he’s been eating so well, he been having breakfast dinner and tea, iv recently started giving him solids so finger foods to eat and he’s doing amazing. So I can’t quite understand why he’s waking up so much in the night the first week he would stay awake for hours and I was so tired the day after I didn’t have energy for anything, I did think it was his teeth which I think had played a part in waking up but once I give him a bottle he goes straight back to sleep, so now that’s what I’m doing we have gone back to waking up twice in the night for bottles.. I feel like we have gone back to the new born stage again and I’m exhausted.
Surely once your baby starts eating food this should fill him up more at night, iv been to the doctors about this as I think it’s the lactose free milk as it is really thin and there is no next stage up from that milk and I really think he would benefit form this! The doctor was no help and said he can’t do anything about it as the health visitors now deal with that, I went to the baby clinic after trying to get in touch with my health visitor for weeks and she couldn’t advice me on anything she just said that she will send a health visitor to my house to see me? I don’t understand why the women at the clinic who is also a health visitor couldn’t help me.
So we are currently still getting up twice in the night for bottles and this means I am exhausted in the day. I feel useless as having a 6 month old baby who is trying to crawl and wants full attention is different than having no sleep with a new born, they just sleep all day anyway.I’m hoping I hear something very soon as it’s not fair on Arthur as he needs his sleep through the night and I know he Would benefit from the next stage milk as he’s always been a hungry baby.
If anyone has any advice for me I will be happy to hear it as I don’t really know were to go from here and I don’t know how to even start weaning Arthur to dairy as I don’t know much about this I would like to have professional advice so it’s doesn’t make him ill.
